Sarah was born about 1847 in Kitroyd Wombwell, Yorkshire.1   Sarah's father was Adam STEAR and her mother was Eliza STEAR. She had a brother and three sisters, named Herbert, Martha A, Alice and Leah.  She was the third oldest of the five children.
