Helena was born about 1883 in Woodhouse Mill Yorks.1   Helena's father was Thomas STEAR and her mother was Elizabeth STEAR. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, Vivian, Evelina and Alice.  She was the second youngest of the five children.
