Thomas was born on September 13th, 1726.1   Thomas' father was Thomas Goad and his mother was Elizabeth Crosfield.  His paternal grandparents were Joseph Goad and Hannah Atkinson. He had a brother and four sisters, named Joseph, Agnes, Hannah, Elizabeth and Mary.  He was the second youngest of the six children.
