Annie was born on September 8th, 1896 in Simla, India and her baptism took place there on October 3rd, 1896.1 2  Annie's father was Horatio Boileau Goad and her mother was Bessie Berkeley.  Her paternal grandparents were Samuel Boileau Goad and Emma Gordon Davidson. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Reginald, Edward, Frederick, Bessie, Agnes and Mary.  She was the youngest of the seven children. She had three half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Lockhart, William, Horace, Harriet and Gertrude.
