Mary was born on July 17th, 1811 and her baptism took place on August 25th, 1811 in Kingswood School-Nc, Bitton, Gloucester.1  Mary's father was Thomas Pinder and her mother was Edith Bourne.  Her paternal grandparents were Joseph Pinder and Susanna Shadford (of Scotter); her maternal grandparents were William Bourne (of Eastwood) and Edith Dawes. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, Edward, Sarah, Susanna and Annie.  She was the second oldest of the six children.
