Percival's father was William Pearse and her mother was Celia Vivian.  Her paternal grandparents were Richard Pearse and Ann; her maternal grandparents were John Vivian (of Salcombe) and Elizabeth Davey. She had four brothers and a sister, named William, Arthur, Elizabeth, Richard and Florence.  She was the youngest of the six children.
