Edward was born in 1761 and his baptism took place on January 2nd, 1761 in Coulsdon, Surrey.¹

Edward's father was William Letts and his mother was Mary Best.  His paternal grandparents were Will Letts and Ann Blanchard; his maternal grandparents were William Best and Mary. He had four brothers and four sisters, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named William, John, Richard, Michael, Mary, Amy, Fanny, Sarah and Letts.  He died at the age of 43 in 1804.  He was buried on January 8th, 1804 in Coulsdon, Surrey.²
