Thomas was born on April 27th, 1848.  Thomas' father was William Fenton and his mother was Hannah Wood.  His paternal grandparents were Joseph Fenton and Peggy Armitage; his maternal grandparents were Joseph Wood and <Unknown>. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Joseph, William, Sarah, Mary, Hannah and Lydia.  He was the fourth oldest of the seven children.  He died at 8 months old on January 4th, 1849 in Huddersfield.1
