Simon's father was Rabbi Yehuda Serfaty and his mother was Habiba Pelas.  His paternal grandparents were Rabbi Menahem Serfaty and Hanina Abecassis. He had seven brothers and three sisters, named Mordekhay, Abraham, Haim, Meir, Nissim, Charles, Salomon, Frekha, Marie and Nina.  He died in Marrakech, Morocco.
