Mordekhay was born in 1901.  Mordekhay's father was Rabbi Yehuda Serfaty and his mother was Habiba Pelas.  His paternal grandparents were Rabbi Menahem Serfaty and Hanina Abecassis. He had seven brothers and three sisters, named Abraham, Haim, Meir, Nissim, Simon, Charles, Salomon, Frekha, Marie and Nina.  He died at the age of 83 in 1984 in Strasbourg, France (Strasbourg, France).
