Simi was born in 1912.  Simi's father was David Benhaim and her mother was Esther Serfaty.  Her paternal grandparents were Jacob Benaim and Fortunee Cohen; her maternal grandparents were Rabbi Menahem Serfaty and Hanina Abecassis. She had a brother and three sisters, named Jacob, Colette, Nina and Reine.  She died at the age of 76 in 1988.
