Jacob was born in 1914.  Jacob's father was David Benhaim and his mother was Esther Serfaty.  His paternal grandparents were Jacob Benaim and Fortunee Cohen; his maternal grandparents were Rabbi Menahem Serfaty and Hanina Abecassis. He had four sisters named Simi, Colette, Nina and Reine.  He died at the age of 82 in 1996.
