Seth George was born on February 4th, 1838 in Stisted, Essex, England and his baptism took place on January 22nd, 1843 in Stisted.1 2  Seth George's father was John TOBIAS and his mother was Mary Ann PEARCE.  His paternal grandparents were Daniel TOBIAS and Elizabeth WAKEFIELD. He had five brothers and a sister, named William Cain, Abel James, Charles Enos, Robert Enoch, Arthur and Susan.  He was the fourth oldest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 47 on June 18th, 1885 in Hawthorn.  He was buried in Boroondara (Kew) Cemetery.3
