Louisa Alice was born in 1893 in Melbourne.1  Louisa Alice's father was George Sidney MERITON and her mother was Isabella Agnes BOLGER.  Her paternal grandparents are George Sidney MERITON and Mary Grace BABBAGE; her maternal grandfather was Kyvan Somers BOLGER and her maternal grandmother is Elizabeth LAWLESS. She had a brother and two sisters, named William Alfred, Mary Grace and Margaret Theresa.  She was the oldest of the four children.
