"HALBERSTATER-PALMER.
The marriage of Mr. Cecil J. Halberstater (second son of Mr. and Mrs. L. Halberstater, Mt. Morgan) and Miss Phyllis Palmer (second daughter of the late Mr. A. J. Palmer and Mrs. M. H. Palmer. Highgate Hill) was solemnised in St. Stephen's Cathedral by Rev. Father Stanaway, on January 5. The bride, who was given away by her uncle, Mr. J. Scurfield, was gowned in ivory mariette made on straight lines, the bodice in joke effect, trimmed with orange blossoms, and the skirt with pleated panels. The veil (lent by Mrs. Wren) was worn in cap and fan style. The bridal bouquet was of white roses. Miss Doreen Halberstater sister of the bridegroom), who attended as bridesmaid, wore a ribboned frock of mauve georgette, touched with pink rosebuds, and a pink hat to match. She carried a bouquet of pink roses. Mr. Mervyn Palmer acted as best man. At the conclusion of the ceremony the guests were entertained at a dejeuner at Keogh's Grand Hotel. The table was artistically decorated in pink and white, and a wedding bell was suspended over the bridal pair. Only close relatives of the bride and bridegroom were present. On leaving for the honeymoon, to be spent at Emu Park, the bride wore a smart blue mariette costume and a hat en suite. Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Halberstater will make their future home in Nanango."
