Sarah was born in 1835 in Thorney.  Sarah's father was Joseph TUCKEY and her mother was Harriet CLARK.  Her paternal grandparents were John TUCKEY and Ann Clerke. She had five brothers and three sisters, named John, Benjamin, Joseph, Edward, Charles, Emma, Ann and Rosa.  She was the fifth oldest of the nine children.
