Edward was born in 1836 in Thorney.  Edward's father was Joseph TUCKEY and his mother was Harriet CLARK.  His paternal grandparents were John TUCKEY and Ann Clerke. He had four brothers and four sisters, named John, Benjamin, Joseph, Charles, Emma, Sarah, Ann and Rosa.  He was the fourth youngest of the nine children.
