Frank was born about 1912 in Pennsylvania.1   Frank's father was Robert Harry THOMPSON and his mother was Vallie HIRLEMAN.  His paternal grandparents were William THOMPSON and Josephine  (Sophia). He had a brother and a sister, named Robert and Dorothy.  He was the second oldest of the three children.
