  1.  On the Ship's Manifest (Ship: Prinzess Irene) (See "Notes" for Maria Podesta (daughter of Joseph/Jose and Maria (Torres) Podesta(, Maria states that her passage to the United States was paid for by "her uncle.  She states that her destination is to her uncle's, Robert Thompson, 32 North Gilbert Street, Shenandoah, Pennsylvania.
     
      The researchers (Judy Johnson, Belinda Perez and Richard Buchanan)  realized that the uncle had to either be a "Podesta" or a "Torres".  It was discovered that Maria's uncle (Robert Thompson) was married to the sister of Maria Torres - (Torres) Podesta.  This connection between Catherine Torres and Maria Torres was discovered when researching the Ellis Island Web Site that shows that Maria (Torres) Podesta departed from Gibraltar and arrived in the United States on July 30, 1909.  Maria indicated that she was going to see her sister, Katherine Thompson, 1 Hillside Street, Pottsville, Pennsylvania, USA.
  
  2.  This researcher could find no immigration record for Catherine (Torres) Thompson on the Ancestry.com web site however, the Ellis Island Passenger Records show the following:

  4.  The 1920 Census for Mechanicsville, Schuylkill, Pennsylvania shows that Catherine (Torres) Tompson (sister of Maria (Torres) Podesta) is living with the Samuel Penilie family.  Samuel Penilie was married to Maria Podesta, the daughter of Joseph/Jose and Maria (Torres) Podesta.  See "Notes" for Maria Podesta regarding her marriage.
