Samuel was born on April 11th, 1773. Samuel's father was Richard MORTLOCK and his mother was Elizabeth RAY. His paternal grandparents were Richard MORTLOCK and Elizabeth. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Robert, Richard, John, Peter, William, Mary, Mary and Elizabeth. He was the second youngest of the nine children.-
