George was born in 1893 in Bow.  George's father was Walter F MORTLOCK and his mother was Alice BLISS.  His paternal grandparents were Phillip MORTLOCK and Elizabeth NUNN. He had a brother and two sisters, named Walter, Florence and Lily.  He was the oldest of the four children.
