Family of Richard Mather & Nancy Nichols

Richard and Nancy were married in a religious ceremony on November 18th, 1779 at St. Mary (Deane) by Vicar Richard Latham and witnessed by Richard Bradley & Holland Bradley.¹ They had a son and a daughter, named Henry and Sarah. The family line is yet to be completed.

- This appears to be the only Lancashire marriage of Richard and Nancy, although following baptisms are in Liverpool.
  There are earlier baptisms with only the father Richard named, and he is a mariner

  He died at the age of 95 in December 1847 R Rumworth. His burial was on December 21st, 1847 at St. Peter's (Bolton).⁴

    - The only old Richard Mather alive in 1841 was aged 79 at Stable Row, W Bolton with possible grandsons Thomas and James Walsh (21 & 15).
      
      The Bolton Chronicle (24 Dec 1847) reported a Richard Mather, aged 92 had died at Bolton Workhouse (so born about 1755). Could this be him?
