    • The Bolton Chronicle:
      On the 20th instant, at Dukes Alley Chapel, by the Rev. J Fyfe. Baptist minister of Moor Lane, Great Bolton, Mr John Mather, of Little Bolton to Miss Elizabeth Kay, of Halliwell.
John and Elizabeth were married in a civil ceremony on September 20th, 1843 in Dukes Alley Chapel (NC) by minister James Fyfe and David Nimms (Registrar)  and witnessed by Samuel Kay (Brother) and Mary Bromiley..1  They had two sons and four daughters, named Samuel, John, Susannah, Margaret, Sarah and Ruth.  There are no more children.
