The Leeds Intelligencer reported the marriage on Saturday 23 Nov 1844 thus: "Tuesday last, at the parish church, Bingley, by the Rev. J. Cheadle, Vicar, Mr Ellis Ratcliffe, of Marlow Hall, farmer and grazier, to Ann, daughter of Mr Thomas Rhodes, of Long-lee, near Keighley.
