Margaret's father was William Woodward and her mother was Mary Ann Coulter.  Her paternal grandparents were James Woodward and Elizabeth Beesley. She had two brothers named Thomas and Thomas.  She was the oldest of the three children.  She died at the age of 2 in March 1848 in Liverpool.¹
