Sarah was born in 1806 in Bolton and her baptism took place there on January 26th, 1806.1 2  Sarah's father was Henry Warburton and her mother was Mary (Mercy) Mather.  Her maternal grandparents were Thomas Mather and Betty Thornley. She had an adopted brother and an adopted sister, named Isaac and Ann.
