Elizabeth's father was Samuel Warburton and her mother was Sarah Richards.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Warburton and Sarah Dod. She had a brother and four sisters, named Thomas, Martha, Ann, Jane and Margaret.  She was the oldest of the six children.  She died at the age of 74 in 1894 in Whitchurch.²
