Robert was born in January 1749 in Greenhill & Helwick and his baptism took place on January 6th, 1749 at All Saints (Bingley).1  Robert's father was Robert Walsh and his mother was Mary Bear. He had five brothers and four sisters, named James, Jonas, William, John, Thomas, Mary, Sarah, Martha and Mercy.  He was the third oldest of the ten children.

‌Robert and Mary were married.  They had a son named James.  There are possibly more children.
