John Walmsley is the son of Thomas Walmsley, a farmer from Longworth, Turton. It is possible he is a nephew of John Walmsley of Turton, but not a missing son! John had a brother Thomas of L.B. who married Ann Grime in 1841. Robert Walmsley (another brother, a shop keeper) was witness.They also had a sister Ann who married in 1843.
24 Oct 1840, John Walmsley married Charlotte Pimblett, daughter of Samuel, also a farmer.
In 1841, John & Charlotte Walmsley (35 & 30) were farmers at Longworth Hall, Longworth, Turton
John and Charlotte had two children, Alice (1842-1844) and John (1843-1847), so no surviving descendants.
Charlotte died about March 1844.
18 Aug 1844, John Walmsley, widower, married Alice Makant, a spinster of Halliwell.
