Sara's father was Edmund Sykes and her mother was Elizabeth Wood.  Her paternal grandparents were Benjamin Sykes and Mrs Benjamin Sykes. She had a brother and a sister, named Joseph and Susanna.  She was the oldest of the three children.  She died due to a childhood disease in February 1723 in Slaithwaite.  She was buried on February 27th, 1723 in Slaithwaite.^1 1
