Joshua was born in 1702 in Kirkheaton and his baptism took place there on February 18th, 1702.1  Joshua's father was Joshua Stocks and his mother was Elizabeth Bingley. He had a brother and two sisters, named Emanuel, Mary and Mary.  He was the oldest of the four children.  He died at the age of 65 in October 1767 in Kirkheaton.  His burial was on October 29th, 1767 in Kirkheaton.1
