George Stocks

George was born on July 23rd, 1815 in Huddersfield and his baptism took place on September 3rd, 1815 at St. Peter (Huddersfield).¹

George's father was Samuel Stocks and his mother was Lydia Wilkinson.  His paternal grandparents were Benjamin Stocks and Sarah Cliffe. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Matthew, Henry, Ann, James, Hannah and Sally.  He was the youngest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 74 in May 1890 in Huddersfield.  He was buried on May 6th, 1890 at Woodhouse Christ Church.²
