Harriet was born on September 19th, 1809 in Liverpool and her baptism took place on November 24th, 1809 at St. Nicholas (L'pool).¹

Harriet's father was Thomas Sherlock and her mother was Anne Dod-Hopley.  Her maternal grandparents were William John Dod-Hopley and Hannah Hopley. She had seven brothers and two sisters, named Randle, Sidney, Harold, Henry, Edgar, Cornelius, Charles, Eliza and Jessie.  She died at the age of 81 in January 1891.  She was buried on January 28th, 1891 at St. Nicholas (L'pool).²
