Mary was born in January 1879 in Dobcross and her baptism took place on January 5th, 1879 in Friarmere.1  Mary's father was William Shaw and her mother was Alice Wood.  Her maternal grandparents were David Wood and Ellen Buckley (nee Bentley).  She died at the age of 77 on March 9th, 1956 in Dobcross.

‌Mary and Fred were married in a religious ceremony on June 2nd, 1903 in Friarmere.2  They had a daughter named Beatrice.  There are no more children.
