Ben was born in 1859 in Lindley.1  Ben's father was William Robinson and his mother was Sarah Robinson.  His paternal grandparents were James Robinson and Sarah. He had two brothers and three sisters, named John, Henry, Martha, Hannah and Betty.  He was the youngest of the six children.
