Timothy was born in 1839 in Addingham.1   Timothy's father was John Pighills and his mother was Ann Pighills. He had two brothers and four sisters, named John, Michael, Mary, Sarah, Hannah and Isabella. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Joseph and Martha.  He died at the age of 60 in 1899.2
