Peter was born in 1805 in Bolton and his baptism took place at St. Peter's (Bolton).1  Peter's father was Peter Morris and his mother was Ann Rothwell. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Jonathan, John, Lucy and Jane.  He was the third oldest of the five known children.
