Christopher's father was Philip Greenhalgh and his mother was Martha Gradwell. He had two sisters named Parthenia and Ellen.  He was the youngest of the three known children. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Joseph and Martha.  He died at the age of 62 in April 1914 in At Sea.  He was buried on April 4th, 1914 at St. Paul's (Astley Bridge).^2 2
