Peter was born in November 1850 in Halliwell and his baptism took place on November 17th, 1850 at St. Paul's (Astley Bridge).1 2  Peter's father was Thomas Moore and his mother was Emily Thomason. He had a sister named Mary.  He was the older of the two children. He had four half-brothers and a half-sister, named Joseph, James, Isaac, Thomas and Elizabeth.
