William Mather

William was born in 1800 in Hindley and his baptism took place there on September 29th, 1799.¹

He died at the age of 63 on June 17th, 1863 in Wigan.²

  In 1851, William (a Bread Baker) and Martha (51 & 50) were at Chapel Lane, Hindley with Thomas (22), Mary (20), Sarah A (16), John (14) and Elizabeth (12).
  
  William Mather of 13 Scarisbrich Street, Wigan left effects under £1500, a great sum. His estate was administered by his oldest son Richard Mather of Shelmerdine Street, Wigan, Boot and Shoe Maker.
