General Notes
Originaly thought to be the husband of Betty Lord, but that Samuel Mather, farmer of Radcliffe died in 1814, so this is another.
In 1841, Samuel (60, a crofter) and Betty (70) are at Smith's Fold, Elton, Ainsworth. Also present are their daughter Sarah Lonsdale (35) and Sarah and Maria Barlow (15 and 10), the daughters of Richard and Alice Barlow (living nearby).
In 1851, Samuel (74, Widower and Bleacher) is still at Smith's Fold with Sarah Longsdale (Unmarried), a Washer. James and Sarah Greenhalgh (28 & 26). James is a Lodger and grandson-in-law and Sarah a granddaughter.
