Harriet was born in 1807 in Pendleton and her baptism took place there on May 31st, 1807.1  Harriet's father was John Mather and her mother was Ann Worsley. She had three brothers and a sister, named Thomas, Thomas, James and Ann.  She was the second oldest of the five children.
