Charlotte was born in December 1852 in Haslingden.1  Charlotte's father was John Mather and her mother was Eliza Platt. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Francis, Henry, Samuel, Mary, Harriet and Eliza.  Samuel and Charlotte were twins.  She died at the age of 53 in June 1906 in Blackpool.1
