Ann was born in May 1814 in Westhoughton and her baptism took place on May 21st, 1814 at St. Bartholomew (Westhoughton).1  Ann's father was John Mather and her mother was Betty Woodward.  Her paternal grandparents were William Mather and Mary Green. She had a brother and two sisters, named Joseph, Mary and Betty.  She was the oldest of the four known children.  She died at the age of 51 on November 8th, 1865 in Horwich.  She was buried on November 14th, 1865 in Horwich.2 3

‌Ann and Thomas were married in a religious ceremony on September 8th, 1839 at St. Peter's (Bolton).4   The family line is yet to be completed.
