Mary was born in 1769 in Bolton and her baptism took place on October 15th, 1769 at St. Peter's (Bolton).1  Mary's father was James Lomax and her mother was Mary Crompton. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, Richard, Peggy and Alice.  She was the second youngest of the five children.  She died at the age of 1 in January 1770.
