Fanny was born in December 1891 in Manchester.1  Fanny's father was Thomas Lee and her mother was Sarah Jane Mather. She had four brothers and two sisters, named Abraham, Joseph, Herbert, Samuel, Clara and Sarah.  She was the third youngest of the seven known children.
