Anna, known as Hannah, was born in September 1784 in Entwistle and her baptism took place on September 4th, 1784 at St. Anne (Turton).1  Hannah's father was William Knowles and her mother was Betty Allmon. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Harry, John, Mary and Alice.  She was the third oldest of the five children.
