Thomas' father was William Hulme and his mother was Mary Mather.  His maternal grandparents were James Mather and Ann Riley. He had two brothers and four sisters, named William, Robert, Alice, Elizabeth, Elizabeth and Isabella.  He was the fourth oldest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 37 in July 1926.  He was buried on August 2nd, 1926.
