Peggy was born in 1826 in Radcliffe and her baptism took place on March 18th, 1826 at Cockey Moor Discenting Chapel.1  Peggy's father was Samuel Holt and her mother was Margaret Holt. She had a brother and three sisters, named William, Mariah, Jane and Sarah.  She was the youngest of the five children.
