Hilda was born on September 22nd, 1916 in Huddersfield.1  Hilda's father was Harry Hinchliffe and her mother was Zilpha Redfearn.  Her paternal grandparents were Fred Hinchliffe and Sabra Pearson; her maternal grandparents were Ralph Redfearn and Elizabeth Dransfield. She had a brother named Ralph.  She was the younger of the two children.  She died at the age of 96 in 2012.

‌Hilda and George were married in a religious ceremony in April 1940 in Huddersfield.  They had a son and two daughters, named Ralph, Carol and Pauline.  There are possibly more children.
